If you are longing for a real get-away, this is for you! On the ranch you can escape the fast-paced life and enjoy solitude

and peacefulness. The view of the stars at night on the prairie is an enchanting experience.

This is the "Real West" - remember Matt Dillon in in the series "Gunsmoke"? As the Marshal of Dodge City, Kansas, a small

town in the middle of a harsh territory, he brought law and order to a lawless frontier where lynch mobs were the norm. He

hds a reputation as a fair man and a quick draw. Cattle rustlers, fugitives, stagecoach bandits and gunslingers were among

the variety of villains that populate Dodge City and the surrounding territory. - Moore Ranch is 40 miles southeast of Dodge

City, the most famous cowtown of the West - and a working ranch as real as they come!

Here is a sample of how your stay at Moore Ranch could progress:

Day 1: Airport pickup in Wichita, KS. 140-mile drive to Ranch south of Bucklin, KS. Arrive at Ranch and familiarize with

family and countryside. Evening Ranch meal, settle in.



Day 2: Ranch Breakfast, Chores, Fit with horses. Riding lessons will be provided where needed. Check or Move Longhorn

Cattle Horseback. Lunch at Ranch. Ride Horseback to monitor wildlife. Chuckwagon/Campfire Supper.



Day 3: Ranch Breakfast, Chores, Ride Horseback to check cattle, move cattle or check windmills. Lunch at small ranch

community café. Ride fences and monitor rangelands on Horseback in afternoon. Chuckwagon/Campfire Supper at Ranch.

Work with colts in evening. Target Shooting in evening or other leisure activity.



Day 4: Ranch Breakfast, Chores, ride to check Longhorn Cattle. Lunch at Ranch. Swim in creek on hot day, roping lessons

or other leisure activity. Ride fences in afternoon. OR Go to Livestock Auction Barn and watch cattle sell. Supper at Ranch.





Day 5: Ranch Breakfast, Chores. To Dodge City, KS for tour of famous Boothill, Fort Dodge, Santa Fe Trail Tracks, Home of

Stone, and the local cattle - feeding industry. Historical re-enactment of indigenous characters of the Cattle Town Era in

evening. Stay at Elegant Boothill Bed and Breakfast (this excursion and overnight is optional).



Day 6: Breakfast at Boothill Bed and Breakfast. Return to Ranch. Eight-mile trail ride to cabin on other part of ranch. Lunch

on trail. Supper at cabin. Stay at cabin.



Day 7: Ranch Breakfast. Ride cattle on eastern part of ranch. Or attend church at old country church (optional). Afternoon

to monitor wildlife; swim in creek, roping lessons, other leisure activity. Chuckwagon/campfire supper.



Day 8: To Wichita to Airport

Option: Visit Old Cowtown Museum depending on time of flight.

Big Well: World’s Largest Hand Dug Well

Boothill and Front Street: A re-creation of Dodge City in its Wild and Wooly days

Big Basin: Large natural Artesian Well and Buffalo Herd

Santa Fe Trail Tracks: Depressions left by wagons going west over the prairie
