On this ride, one can experience the wide-open plains of Wyoming as seen by the historic riders who carried the mail

through this remote part of the world. And immigrants who followed the Oregon Trail. You will witness varied landscape

where wild horses are common and abundant antelope. There are rivers, deserts, sagebrush plains. Wooded hills and in the

distance view the snowcapped mountains of the Wind River Range. Enjoy hearty meals, breathe clean mountain air. And

sleep under the star-studded heavens.



Saturday: Arrive in Riverton and transfer to your motel accommodations in Lander with your fellow riders at the home of Skip

and Vivian. your guide and hostess.

Sunday: Breakfast and depart for the start of the ride via the Sweetwater Station. At the trailhead there will be an

introduction to the horses. followed by a leisurely 4-hour ride near the Mormon, Oregon and Pony Express Trails. This rolling

country was filled with emigrant. their covered wagons horses and cattle nearly 150 years ago. Your trail ride will take you

into your first campsite at

St. Mary's Peak.

Monday: After a hearty breakfast, saddle up and ride south into the Red Desert. You'll stop for lunch at Pickett Lake. If you

and your horse want. you can go for a leisurely afternoon swim! You have the chance for a long canter back to St. Mary's

Peak camp, south of the Sweetwater Canyon.

Tuesday: Today, following the northern route of the Oregon Trail, you ride down into the Sweetwater Canyon where you

can swim. fish. or just lie back and relax. After

lunch. you ride the Pony Express/Oregon Trail to our Campsite for the next two nights on Rock Creek. In the evening. after

dinner, guests are driven to the historic Atlantic City for a fun night out on the town.

Wednesday: Heading out with a packed lunch you will follow the north rim of the Sweetwater Canyon, dropping down into

the Canyon and exploring it for most of the day. On this day, you will see Continental Peak (8,341 feet) and the Oregon

Buttes.

Thursday: Follow Rock Creek northeast past working and abandoned gold mines. Historic Willie's Handcart tow heading

toward our final camp on Little Beaver Creek,

located outside the old gold mining town of Atlantic City.

Friday: We wind down the trip by riding into South Pass City .After lunch and strolling through historic South Pass City, drive

back to Lander by vehicle. There will be a farewell dinner wild "two-steppin" at a local night club. Overnight at a Lander

motel.

Remarks:Horses & Track: Riders are welcome to bring their own saddles.

and horses on this ride are chosen for their experience and

surefootedness in rough, mountainous terrain. Although

predominantly Quarterhorses, other breeds and crosses will be

among the remuda. Western-style riding and tack are used.

Climate: The climate in this part of Wyoming is changeable and

unpredictable due to the proximity to high mountains. Warm clothing

is of utmost necessity . The mornings and evenings can be quite

cool. 35-45 degrees, and the days warm. 75-85 degrees. Rainfall

is about 12 inches per year and the humidity is very low. Some

summer thunderstorms.
