| You will traverse forests, mountains precipitous river canyon of the Hole-In- The-Wa1l country at the south end of |
| Wyoming's Bighorn Mountains. Butch Cassidy and many other outlaws this area as a hideout because of its rugged |
| geography and remoteness. It was also a last stronghold of the Indians for the same reason. Today it remains almost |
| untouched by civilization and rarely visited except by occasional cowboys and sheepherders. |
| Saturday: Arrive in Riverton and transfer to your motel accommodations in Lander. Enjoy dinner with your fellow riders at the |
| home of Skip and Vivian, your guide and hostess. |
| Sunday: Breakfast and depart by vehicle heading northwest of Casper way off the beaten track to the Shepperson's Buffalo |
| Creek Ranch. There will be an introduction to the horses followed by a leisurely 4 hour ride into camp. Camp is located at the |
| Buffalo Creek Canyon. |
| Monday: After a hearty breakfast, saddle up and ride west through the canyons and meadows. It is very rough country and |
| the trail twists and winds around Buffalo |
| Creek Canyon and other canyons. Today and every day. however. there will be places for some good canters. |
| Tuesday: As we ride out of camp toward a new site. the terrain changes. You approach the red wall which is approximately |
| 40 miles long. This area was used by Civil War deserters before the time of the Wild Bunch and by Indians long before that. |
| Some say that up to 500 outlaws had their refuge here around the turn of the |
| century. Camp is at the old head- quarters of the Buffalo Creek Ranch and there is much historical interest here. |
| Wednesday: We ride up and over the red wall. This is ideal horse country .flat and less rocky terrain. You will have a |
| chance to view deer and antelope. The local ranchers have been invited to dine along; these very friendly people are proud |
| of their local history and relate some fascinating stories. |
| Thursday: Today's ride will explore the area and look for fossils. The return to camp includes a six mile canter (your choice |
| of course). |
| Friday: You'll be riding south following the red wall on the Buffalo Creek Ranch. At the end of the trail lunch is served and |
| you are transported back to the Lander motel. There win be a farewell dinner and dancing at a local night club. |
| Saturday: Transfer to Riverton Airport. |

| The horses on this ride are chosen for their experience and |
| surefootedness in rough, mountainous terrain. Although |
| predominantly Quarterhorses. other breeds and crosses will be |
| among the remuda. Western-style riding and tack are used. |
| Climate: The climate in this part of Wyoming is changeable and |
| unpredictable due to the proximity to high mountains. Warm clothing |
| is of utmost necessity. The mornings and evenings call be quite |
| cool, 35-45 degrees, and the days warm, 75-85 degrees. Rainfall |
| is about 12 inches per year and the humidify is very low. Some |
| summer thunderstorms. |
