Trail Ride
Code:292

Experience the beauty of the Grand Canyon in a very special way, by taking a ride into the depth of the most spectacular

canyon in the world. After spending the night at the "North Rim Grand Canyon Lodge" (your home for the night will be

reserved in a room at one of the "Frontier Cabins") your program starts at 7:30 am with a transfer to the North Kaibab

Trailhead located about 3.2 km North of the lodge. The mules will be saddled and waiting for your arrival. After a short

orientation, the adventure begins. The ½-day ride will take you down the trail to the Supai Tunnel. The full-day ride continues

even further down to Roaring Springs, where the North Kaibab Trail merges with the famous Bright Angel Trail. The section

to Roaring Springs is one of the steepest parts of the North Kaibab Trail. The difference in altitude between North Rim Grand

Canyon and Roaring Springs is more than 1130 meters or 3700 feet! On the ½-day ride you’ll reach Coconino View Point and

Supai Tunnel after 2.9 km or 1,7 miles. On the all-day ride you continue on to the breath taking Redwall Bridge and after

approx. 5.75 km or 3.5 miles you reach the "Eye of the Needle". In 1928 a pump station servicing the Union Pacific Railroad

was built there. Today it’s home to a park ranger. In addition a snack stand, helicopter pad and campground can be found

there. Returning to the lodge after your ½-day trip you’ll continue on to your next destination. The full-day trip includes

another night at North Rim Grand Canyon Lodge.
