Cattle Drive
Code:1184

If you've ever longed to take part in the old days of ranching, this is your chance!

This is the "Real West" - remember Matt Dillon in in the series "Gunsmoke"? As the Marshal of Dodge City, Kansas, a small

town in the middle of a harsh territory, he brought law and order to a lawless frontier where lynch mobs were the norm. He

hds a reputation as a fair man and a quick draw. Cattle rustlers, fugitives, stagecoach bandits and gunslingers were among

the variety of villains that populate Dodge City and the surrounding territory. - Moore Ranch is 40 miles southeast of Dodge

City, the most famous cowtown of the West - and a working ranch as real as they come!

Every spring and fall, the ranch rounds-up and moves the Longhorn herd approximately 50 miles between summer and

winter pastures. These drives are authentic and not "put ons." Participants is limited to 10 only. This allows you to relate

one-on-one with the cowboys and take full advantage of the experience. They travel as much as possible over open

range, going up rugged hills, through creeks and over miles and miles of prairie. The cattle drovers sleep under the stars as

their horses and cattle grazes nearby. Experience the wide-open spaces as you help to drive the cattle to their new pasture.

In springtime the Longhorn cows will be driven back from winter pasture, in fall it's back to the winter pasture. It is about an

18 mile drive and a 3 day event. One day is orientation to the ranch and the horse you will ride, and two days will be spent

driving cattle.
